This is a nice syrup that goes with most base spirits.
Peels from a grapefruit (or two if they’re small)
A few sprigs of fresh rosemary
1 part Water (200ml)
1.5 part Sugar (300ml)
In pot, combine ingredients and bring to a simmer. Keep heat but don’t let it boil for 15-30 minutes. It’ll make the house smell nice. Strain out the solids and cool. Should probably use it a couple weeks after making it.
This one comes from Thanksgiving 2024, we made another batch of the grapefruit/rosemary simple syrup and were playing with different things.
1oz Grapefruit/Rosemary simple syrup
1.5oz Piggyback Rye
Hot water
Combine syrup and rye in a coffee mug, top with hot water and stir. Warms you up on a chilly night.
1 part Awayuki Strawberry Gin
1 part lime juice
1 part Aperol
1 part Nonino
Shake, strain. Serve up. No garnish.
2oz Piggyback Rye
3/4oz Amaro Lucano
3/4oz Dolin Dry
3/4oz Luxardo Maraschino
Stir, stain over big cube in rocks glass. A cherry could work as a garnish.

1.5oz Dolin Dry
3/4oz Benedictine
3 dashes Absinthe
Orange peel
Regal Stir (alcohols, orange peel, ice), strain. Serve up w/ expressed orange peel oil.
A bitter low ABV cocktail. Found this one through Anders Erickson.
2oz Cynar
1oz Cocchi Vermouth di Torino
1/4oz Lemon Juice
4 dashes orange bitters
1 swath lemon peel
“Regal” Shake everything with the lemon peel and ice. Strain. Server up. Express another lemon peel and garnish.
2.25 oz Whistler Piggyback rye
1.25 oz home grown lemon juice
3/4 oz simple (1:1)
Shake and strain into coupe
Dash angostura, dash peychauds bitters
